Decal Application Instructions

Prepare the SurfaceMake sure your model is clean, smooth, and free of dust or oils.Trim the DecalCarefully cut out the decal as close to the design as possible. Follow the outline of the artwork to minimize visible edges.Prepare the Surface with Solution (optional)Lightly dampen the area with water or a decal-setting solution for better adhesion.Soak the DecalPlace the decal in warm distilled water for about 15–30 seconds, or until it begins to slide on the backing paper.Apply the DecalGently slide the decal from the backing paper onto your model. You can use your fingers, tweezers, or a soft tool—just handle it carefully to avoid tearing.Position and Remove Excess WaterAdjust the decal into place, then use a soft brush, paper towel, or cotton swab to gently press out any water or air bubbles.Set and Conform the DecalAllow the decal to begin drying. If needed, apply a decal softening solution to help it settle over details like rivets and panel lines.Seal the DecalOnce completely dry, apply a clear matte or satin finish to protect and seal the decal.Decal is Stretching or TearingUse more water and handle more gently. Let it soak a bit longer before applying.Silvering (tiny air bubbles under decal)Lightly prick the area with a sharp blade. Apply a decal softener to help it settle.Decal Won’t Conform to DetailsGive it time to dry slightly, then apply a softening solution. Repeat as needed for deeper details.Decal Wrinkles After Applying SolutionThis is normal Do NOT touch it while it dries—wrinkles will disappear as it settles.Decal Won’t Release from Backing PaperWater may be too cold, use warm distilled water for best results.White Marks or Residue Around DecalUse distilled water to avoid mineral buildup. Ensure the surface is clean before applying.
